TRIOTHERM+ profiles in 160, 180, 200 and 230 mm heights are particularly suited for use as structural and thermally insulating door upstands and threshold supports.
They provide a strong, moisture-resistant and thermally efficient base beneath entrance doors, lift-and-slide doors and other floor-level elements, helping to minimise thermal bridging at the critical threshold connection.
Each profile is 85 mm wide and 1,175 mm long. Integrated dovetail joints allow adjoining TRIOTHERM+ profiles to be connected and extended to the required length.
The high-density EPS construction combines very high load-bearing capacity with low thermal conductivity and excellent resistance to moisture, making TRIOTHERM+ particularly suitable for thermally separated threshold constructions.
TRIOTHERM+ 160–230 mm profiles are particularly suited for creating load-bearing, thermally insulating supports beneath entrance doors, lift-and-slide doors and other floor-level elements.
The profile forms a stable structural base between the door or sliding-door element and the load-bearing building structure while reducing thermal bridging through the threshold area.
The load-bearing substrate must be firm and stable and must be free from loose material, grease, bituminous separating layers and other substances that could reduce adhesion.
Normal construction dust should be removed or bound using a damp brush before installation.
The official TRIOTHERM+ installation instructions specify that the adhesion of Power FIX to the actual substrate should be checked before installation.
Power FIX is applied to the substrate-facing side of the TRIOTHERM+ profile. The profile is then positioned, firmly pressed against the prepared substrate and accurately aligned.
Joints between adjoining TRIOTHERM+ profiles must also be properly bonded and sealed with Power FIX.
The TRIOTHERM+ profiles must additionally be mechanically secured to the load-bearing structure using suitable FK-T30 frame screws.
The required screw length, anchoring depth, fixing positions and spacing depend on the profile height, substrate, installation geometry and loads. The applicable TRIOTHERM+ installation instructions must therefore be followed.
Depending on the wall construction, profile height, installation geometry and forces involved, additional TRIOTHERM+ support or assembly brackets may be required.
The requirement for additional support must be determined from the applicable installation detail and structural requirements.
Door and sliding-door frames can be mechanically fixed directly into the TRIOTHERM+ profile.
The TRIOTHERM+ profile itself does not require pre-drilling for the frame fixing screw. Fixing type, screw-in depth and fixing spacing must be selected in accordance with the relevant installation detail and the door or sliding-door construction.
Floor-level door and sliding-door connections require particular attention to external waterproofing.
Where required by the connection detail, a suitable waterproofing system such as FLK should be used to protect the threshold connection against external moisture and driving rain.

TRIOTHERM+ Profile, Power FIX and FK-T30 Frame Screws form the TRIOTHERM+ fastening system.
Power FIX provides the bonding and sealing connection between the TRIOTHERM+ profile and the substrate, while the FK-T30 frame screws provide the required mechanical, force-transmitting connection to the load-bearing structure.
Power FIX does not replace the required mechanical fixing of the TRIOTHERM+ profiles.
For the larger 160–230 mm TRIOTHERM+ profiles, the required screw length and any additional support depend on the substrate, profile height, installation geometry and forces involved.
Where installation is carried out in accordance with ETA-23/0620, the specified TRIOTHERM+ system components, fixing requirements and official installation instructions must be observed.
